Huajiang Ouyang Centre for Engineering Dynamics SchoolofEngineering University of Liverpool,England This talk will briefly introduce the Dual PhD Program between theUniversityofLiverpoolandDalianUniversityof Technology under development. This program will be centred on applied mechanics problems in Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering at first, in intended to spread to other Engineering and Science disciplines in near future. The outlines of a number of research projects from several interested colleagues in theSchoolofEngineering,UniversityofLiverpool, will be presented. This is meant to inform the DUT colleagues and excite interests. It is hoped that further contacts between individual researchers sharing similar research interests will follow. Huajiang Ouyang graduated with BEng in Engineering Mechanics in 1982, MEng in Solid Mechanics in 1985 and PhD in Structural Engineering in 1989, inDalianUniversityof Technology. He is now Professor (Chair) of Structural Dynamics and Control, and Director of Postgraduate Research and international Students’ Tutor in theSchoolofEngineering,UniversityofLiverpool. He has several distinguished academic positions inChinaand internationally, for example, Fellow of Institute of Physics, and also Royal Academy of Engineering and Leverhulme Trust Senior Research Fellow (2009-2010).
